FAQs

1. How do I clean my toys?

Wipe toys with a damp cloth and gentle soap (if necessary). Wipe dry with a dry cloth and leave to air dry in the shade. Do not leave outside in the rain or sun. Moisture will distort the wood and sun may cause colors to fade.

2. Will my wooden toys break? Can it be repaired?

Wooden toys are more durable than plastic toys however there is a chance of wooden toys breaking. Depending on the height, force or angle of the impact, there may be a chance that the wood will fracture or break, particularly for thinner pieces.

Yes, wooden toys can be repaired! With Wood Glue and a couple of tools, your wooden toy can be repaired to look almost as good as new.

3. Are the toys safe to be put into the mouth?

Yes. The toys are finished with certified non-toxic water-based paints that have passed European Standards of testing EN 17:2019 (migration of hazardous elements). All toys are safe for children to put into the mouth and can be chewed on for teething relief.

4. Why are there small dents on some of my toys?

Dents can occur during manufacturing or transit. Lynly toys are mostly made from Pinewood which is a soft wood (easy to carve and work with) so it can be prone to some dents which can be very difficult to avoid entirely. Small dents are considered a cosmetic flaw and does not qualify as damaged/defected.

5. Why are there dark patterns under the paint?

Wood has natural markings which may be visible underneath the paint. It is natural and safe.

A. Knots in the wood caused by grain deviation

B. Black spots caused by mineral deposits (not mold)

C. Black stripes across the toy is something known as the pith tube, the oldest part of tree.

6. When can my child start playing with these types of toys?

Children as young as 6 months can be introduced to toys like Spheres and Curvee's.

Six month old babies may not 'play' with the toys but will be able to practice other skills such as grasping, throwing, crawling towards, hand-eye coordination.

7. What is the difference between Age Recommendation and Age (Toy Safety)?

Age Recommendation is the age of when the child has an understanding of different ways to play with the toy(s). Children will apply skills they have already learned such as hand-eye coordination, creativity, cognitive thinking etc.

Age (Toy Safety) is the age of which it is safe for the child to play with the toy. The toy does not pose as a choking hazard, have sharp points and any cords or string.

 8. Will my child know how to play with these toys?

The simple answer is yes because there is no right or wrong way to play with these toys. Depending on the child's age and interests, they will play with the toys in different ways.

For children to gain maximum benefits from our toys, we recommend parents to rotate toys every few weeks and allow time for unstructured play.

Let your child be bored and they will find ways to entertain themselves. Open-ended toys will allow your child to be more creative and encourage them to think outside the box.

9. How will my package arrive?

Your toys will be well protected in a sturdy corrugated mailer box. Inside the box, your toys are carefully placed in a pillow of filler paper so the toys do not come into contact with each other during transit. (Nesting toys will have a protective layer between arches to avoid color transfer throughout transit).

The contents of the package is sealed with a white tissue to ensure that nothing moves inside the box.

The mailer box is neatly wrapped in butcher paper. The package will have your shipping label and two FRAGILE stickers on front and back.

The packaging is suitable for Gifting, we also provide a gift card if you would like to include a message and a giftwrapping service.

10. If I want giftwrapping, how will my gift be wrapped?

At Lynly, we wrap gifts with cotton fabric. We have adopted the Furoshiki traditional giftwrap method because it is environmentally friendly, easy to repurpose and looks elegantly beautiful.

Fabric patterns are chosen at random.
